[edit] re: SAE from airport

Glad it helps. The one time I've needed it so far I didn't have one. But, NEXT time .... :-)

Odd bit of American trivia: the largest coin in common circulation is a twenty-five cent quarter which won't even buy a single first class postage stamp (currently 37 cents). Dollar coins are legal tender and currently minted, but for some incomprehensible reason have never caught on. The ONLY place that you ever see them are in casinos or the post office (or post-office vending machines). --Wrex 16:09, 4 Apr 2005 (EDT)

  • Hmm: Wikipedia:legal tender --RB 10:55, 8 Apr 2005 (EDT)
  • I don't know about anyone else, but I use the Sacajawea (don't ask me how to spell that properly) dollars all the time. Most coin-op car washes accept them now (and sometimes provide them at the change machines), a lot more vending machines take them now than used to (especially ones near post offices for obvious reasons) and WalMart (treasonous American/Chinese dept. store chain) still hands them out as change once in a while (this was one of the original distribution points when the dollar coin was first reintroduced a few years back). They're accepted everywhere so I carry them around when I have them, and you never know when you'll run into a vending machine that takes them while on a long road trip or something (it seems more common in states with legal gambling, probably something to do with an increased local affinity for slot machines). --ThePolack 12:07, 8 Apr 2005 (EDT)

[edit] re: expired credit card in wallet

Also, I don't get the bit about carrying an expired credit card in your wallet. Do muggers in London not take your entire wallet?

  • Heh. Not always, no. Sometimes you get marched to the nearest ATM... --RB 10:55, 8 Apr 2005 (EDT)

[edit] re: how to hang up on someone

I've only ever used The Technique once, but it's one of those things you just feel good having in your bag of tricks.--J.T. Boofle 23:42, 4 Apr 2005 (EDT)

[edit] re: Tinderbox

I'd be happy to share Tinderbox knowledge. I'm not sure how useful screenshots would be to you since I work pretty heavily with agents... I'm currently working on a tutorial file which I'll be sending along to the Gmail group as soon as it's done (probably this weekend) and a Getting Things Done template will be along sometime after that. If you've got any specific questions, you can email me; I'm always happy to help out (price dot emily at gmail dot com).

Good luck :) --Duien 00:08, 14 Apr 2005 (EDT)
