Discovered this while in NYC recently: I needed a map, fast, but could only access one on the Web and could not print it out. So, I took a digital photo of it. When reviewing your photos on most digital cameras, you can zoom in and pan left-right/up-down, so you can reasonably view a physically large document on a digital camera's small screen. If you have a digital camera with high enough resolution and a large enough screen, it works really well and, as a bonus, you don't have to walk around looking like a tourist with a paper map out. On most cameras you will be able to upload an image directly, i.e., but storing it on a CFlash or SD-card.
