[edit] Recent Changes Page
Hi Jim,
Usually I would have put a description of my edit, but I forgot a few that day. (The description usually appears in italics at the end of a logged change.) I added a space after the lamy.com link. If you click on 'diff', you can compare the two different versions of the page.
I didn't know about patrolled edits until you asked me. You can 'patroll' an edit by checking that it is correct or justified, and mark it 'patrolled'. (When you view an unpatrolled page, there will be a link at the bottom right to mark it as patrolled). This is the information I found on patrolling:
- "Patrolling edits is a way to verify that it is a good edit, and to collaborate on filtering spam and vandalism. If you're combing through the recent changes list, and you look at an article that is good, you can mark it as "patrolled" so that other users know that it is good.
- Policies may vary among projects whether an article can be marked as patrolled if it is not obvious vandalism, or only when the correctness has been verified."
My name tells you it was me that made the edit. Clicking on my name will take you to my user-page, if I have created one. Clicking on 'Talk' will take you to a page where you can leave me a message (as you have done). The ! means that the edit is unpatrolled - no one has verified that it is not spam or that it is correct. m stands for 'minor edit'. This means when I edited, I ticked a box to say that the edit contained no new information or major re-arrangement of old information. You can filter the recent changes view to not include minor edits by looking at the option at the top of the list. N means the page is newly created.
I think I will create a RecentChangesHelp page for these things. I notice we also seem to lack a FormattingHelp page...
