A very good plain (raw, non-HTML, unformatted) text editor for Windows-- I keep it open all the time; it's perfect for jotting down notes while on the phone, copying-and-pasting between apps to force formatting to disappear from the clipboard (especially helpful when this Microsoft "feature" just gets in the way), making little lists and so forth. An excellent replacement for the built-in Windows notepad.
If you're a coder it's awesome (since it is packed with features specifically for writing computer code) but even if you're not, we're still talking about an editor that has a small memory footprint, launches quickly, has a built-in spell checker, is updated often (twice a month?) with new features and most importantly: runs blazingly fast! --ecm 03:14, 26 Mar 2005 (EST)
