I'm confused - why am I keeping last year's phone books under my car seat? Is the idea that it gives the car seat cushion a longer life? --pnoeric 21:47, 26 Mar 2005 (EST)
- I wondered about that too. Then it hit me--the idea is to keep the phone book on the floor of the car. So if you need to look up a number while in the car, there it is. -Michael Leddy
- Yep. It's a classic. My grandparents did that in the 70s, and in the age of mobile phones it makes more sense than ever ("What time's the nearest post office close?"or "Where's the closest Starbuck's with a wifi hotspot?") --Merlin 20:14, 27 Mar 2005 (EST)
- Um, isn't that what '411' is for? Or Infone? ;-) I can't imagine pulling over and/or using yellow pages when I can just dial for info? Maybe I'm just not getting the "spirit" of this life hack ;-) --pnoeric 00:56, 28 Mar 2005 (EST)
I've added a driving directions hack. I'm not sure about the formatting or even if this should be under travel hacks. --Dbush 07:50, 27 Mar 2005 (EST)
