Does anyone have a pre-defined set of holidays for Remind or a link to same? In the US, most bank holidays occur on Monday and are generally days that most of us don't keep track of. If I can't put my banking off until after the weekend because of one of these utterly useless holidays, it would be nice to be reminded of it on the Friday before hand. I was just about to make such a calendar of my very own, but being an ex-Perl jockey, laziness is one of my cardinal virtues. If there aren't any out there, I'd be glad to make one myself and post it up here. Just thought I'd check first before going to the trouble (ah hell, maybe I'll do it anyway just to teach myself more about REM and MSF and whatnot). --ThePolack 22:12, 27 Mar 2005 (EST)

There a really good set of examples included in the Remind tarball at examples/defs.rem. I've dropped a copy locally for your perusal. Much of it couple be assimilated onto this page.--JamesRifkin 16:58, 2 Apr 2005 (EST)
Yeah, funny thing that. I actually found that .rem file in my copy of the tarball about an hour after I posted that. Oh well, that's what I get for not doing my homework. Thanks for the response anyway though. I'm sure the sample list on the wiki is still a good idea since I'd wager I'm not the first person to overlook the tarball contents and I probably won't be the last. --ThePolack 19:33, 2 Apr 2005 (EST)

[edit] Elapsed Time Recipe?

I'm looking for a way to have Reminder add a line telling me how many days have elapsed since a given date. In other words:

MSG My last cigarette was %whatever.%

I'd like to do this within Remind, if possible. Any ideas?

MSG My last cigarette was [TODAY()-DATE(2005,4,3)] days ago would return the number of days since April 3, 2005. Hope it helps you though personally, I break habits easier when I'm not reminded of them. --ThePolack 22:27, 10 Apr 2005 (EDT)
Thanks for the help. RIght now, I'm thinking about it all the time anyway, so maybe some reminder of my accomplishment would be helpful. I'm working on day number 8, BTW. jrw
