[edit] Stickers on Moleskine

Anyone had a bad experience with putting stickers on your Moleskine? I've just had two begin to peel off and the residue left behind is impossible to remove. Any thoughts?

--Andy Thompson 04:54, 22 Mar 2005 (EST)

Sorry, Andy. I don't use my stickers. Maybe they would be better stuck on the softer, rougher covers. Maybe your cover wasn't perfectly clean when you stuck it on?

--Abizer 19:02, 22 Mar 2005 (EST)

Well, I think it was the sticker I used. They're not the ones that come with most of the new Moleskines. I'm just wondering if I can clean the cover or if I need to think about ditching this one and getting a new one. Thanks, Abizer.

Is the residue super sticky? I don't know if this will work with your Moleskine but you could put a small amount of oil on the residue to try and get it off. I've had good luck spraying pam on plastic items with impossible sticker residue. Course the potential oil stain may be worse than the residue :) --Librarygirl

I was going to suggest a small amount of furniture polish like Pledge or Mr Sheen --Abizer 09:19, 23 Mar 2005 (EST)

I will try these tips and let you know if it works. Thanks! --Andy Thompson 14:13, 23 Mar 2005 (EST)
Nope, that didn't work. I guess I'm just screwed... --Andy Thompson 01:58, 26 Mar 2005 (EST)

I used to work at a used bookstore and we had to remove stickers on the cover of the books before we could sell them. We found lighter fluid (the kind you'd put in a zippo lighter) worked the best. It dissolves the adhesive and leaves no residue. Who would have thunk?

Speaking of stickers, what do people do with the stickers that come with new Moleskines? I always feel like I must be missing something when I throw them away. --Yayabuddha

[edit] Did you mean.. moleskin ?

Looks like you can get good deals on eBay.

Is this some sort of Wiki spam? --Andy Thompson 14:51, 23 Mar 2005 (EST)

Nope-- just that I noticed that the apparently hard-to-find 2005 calendars were there. -- Shiloh 19:32, 23 Mar 2005 (PST)

[edit] Neutral voice?

The finest notebooks known to humanity

While that's not far off from my own opinion too, I wonder if that's a bit cheeky for an intro. :)

I wouldn't mind opening with something a bit more neutral and having a testimonial section further down (and eventually on its own page). May take a crack.

Heresy! Actually, I use some notebooks that aren't Moleskines. In fact, I have no idea what brand they are. Is this bad? --RB 11:15, 23 Mar 2005 (EST)

[edit] Where To Buy

The Where To Buy section is getting quite big, should we consider moving it to, say Moleskine:Where To Buy?

--arjenvr 12:36, 23 Mar 2005 (EST)

I think that'd be a great move. --Andy Thompson 14:12, 23 Mar 2005 (EST)

[edit] Best Glue Stick?
