Fearlist
From 43FoldersWiki
Fearlist is my latest GTD tool.
The problem: There are tasks that are supposed to be of high priority (no someday/maybe stuff), but for one reason or another I can't get myself do them. It's not due to general procrastination, as I'm doing many other things, but somehow these just make me want to look somewhere else when I see them on the projects list.
The idea: List task that you feel anxiety about in order of the time since anything was last done about them. When you have some time, look at the first item on the list, and move the task just a little forward. After you're finished (even if it was just a small progress), move the task to the end of the fearlist. Nothing guarantees that you will do something about the project, but those you fear most will stay in "top of the fearlist" position longest, so you're much likely to get yourself do something about them than when they were in the least visited part of the project list.
The name: I probably named it after the "Feel the fear and do it anyway" meme. Being aware of one's bad emotions makes it easier to control them.
